Katsuno is a popular Japanese restaurant in Forest Hills which is known for making tasty sashimi—it feels like you are eating raw fish, but it’s cooked and seasoned to perfection. The salmon and yellowtail are a favorite, and two pieces come with each order. The cold pumpkin soup also tastes great; its broth contains kabocha squash mixed with other ingredients such as carrots/potatoes etc., which makes for an interesting dish.
Sushi and maki are popular choices, but if you’re looking for something different, try the grilled meats or noodle dishes. Yellowtail is an excellent sushi option that will not disappoint! For an unusual appetizer, we recommend trying cold onsen poached egg; thinly sliced magret duck can also be delicious when prepared correctly (thinness being key). Lastly, there’s fried chicken that is always prepared perfectly and will not disappoint.
